Candle Care

Burn Time

To prevent tunneling & create a candle memory, the first time your light your soy candle let the wax melt all the way to the edge of the vessel. Never burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time.

Trim Wick Before Every Use

It is normal in soy wax for your cotton wicks to mushroom. This is easily fixed by trimming your wick to 6mm. Trimming will ensure your candle does not burn hotter than it should and will prolong the life of your candle. Be sure not to trim to short or the wick will become engulfed in wax.

Avoid Draughts

Candles burn best in still air but if you can’t avoid draughts turn the candle periodically. A candle in a draught may also start to smoke.

Candle Storage

Candles are sensitive to temperature and light. Fragrances with vanilla content may yellow if exposed to sunlight or fluorescent light. This is normal and does not affect the burning of the candle. Store your candles in an upright position.

Putting Candles Out

It is always best to use a candle snuffer rather than blowing out the flame to prevent wicks from drifting off centre and to avoid wax splash. This will help to maximise the candles burn time.

Keep The Burn Pool Clean

If you get any black at the brim of your glass simply wipe it away with paper towel. Keep the wax around the candle free from bits of wick and cotton to prevent fire. Never under any circumstance add flowers, stones, glitter or any material to your soy wax candles as this is a fire hazard and will drift wick off centre causing your vessel to get hot and explode.

Lastly, enjoy your candle!
